Das hier wusste ich bis jetzt nicht, fand ich hochspannend und wäre doch eine klasse Geschichte für deutsche Journalisten (statt für die Washington Post). Mich wundert es sowieso, seitdem ich hier lebe, dass man über manches, was hier spielt, in deutschen Blättern kaum was erfährt. Der Lübecker SV scheint immerhin so etwas zu sein wie, weiß auch nicht, Real Madrid für Schachspieler...

The German Bundesliga, considered to be world's best and toughest national team competition, ended yesterday without a surprise. The defending champion, a team of Luebecker SV, smashed the opposition again and won the seven-month-long season. The team's top boards are loaded with such superstars as Alexei Shirov of Spain, England's Michael Adams and Russia's Evgeny Bareev. The rest of the team fields powerful English and Scandinavian grandmasters who usually play for their Olympic teams. And there is also one American, Nick DeFirmian, who tied for first place in last January's U.S. championship in Seattle.
